Let me recall the pleasant blue sky days of our travel to Assisi, Italy. The climate was quiet pleasant when we visited this place last autumn.
These beautiful St. Francis church was established June 1849. Known originally as the birthplace of St. Francis (1182-1226 AD), The town has been established for religious divinity and reverently dedicated since long before the Franciscan epoch. Saint Francis, was known as the patron saint of animals, and environment.
The lovely view of the countryside, makes Assisi so special. Well of course the wonderful location on the side of the hill and some very special old buildings are part of it...

Assisi really seems worth seeing, but then all Italy is ... isn´t it?

As a child, St. Francis was my favorite Saint. And though I am not Roman Catholic, I still believe he had admirable qualities.
